no access via ssh/webadmin after update to 4.008

Hi,

sorry if this is a repost, but I could't find a hint in the threads.

I updated to 4.008. Before, everything looked fine. I could access the fw via ssh or webadmin. After the update, I am not abble to acess it via the network.
If  I log into the console, I can see that the interfaces are up, and routing looks good too ...
I have not configured any filter-rules, and in /etc/wfe/conf I set everything for pinging to "1". Anyway, I am not able to ping the/or from the fw....
I re-installed the fw several times now. Using the 4.008-image I'm not able to access webadmin after the first reboot. So I'm even not able to log into the fw on the console.
If I use the 4.000-image everything looks good. I can apply all the patches up to 4.007, no problem to accees the fw. After applying patch 4.008 the browser looses connection to the fw, fw reboots, and now I'm just not able to acceess it via ssh or webadmin.
I applied 4.009 from the console, but it didn't help either.

Currently I'm not using any licence, as I'm still at the stage of testing. I heard that the "home-users"-licence only allowes 3 NICs, so I removed one of my 4 NICs, but also no succes.

I realy would be glad if someone could give me a hint. I've been using ASL 3.x for more than a year at home and was very happy with it. Now I'm doing testing to find out if we can use ASL4.x in our company, but this problem almost cost me  one day.....

    from the console:

    cd /etc/httpd
    vim httpd.conf

    there is a line named listen, which is the port your firewall is listening to your webadmin request.

    I had the same problem, no reboot was solving the prob,the port in that file was right but the firewall wasn't realy listening.

    I changed the port, saved the file with ":" and "x", changed it again, reboot,  webadmin was back again.

    Perhaps you have the same prob!

    Thanks Patrice for your answer, but it didn't help for my problem here.

    It  seems that the problem is somehow connected to the new Kernel in 4.008. It seems that this kernel has some problems with my ASUS board here. I will open another thread for this.

    Hi,

    Let's narrow down the problem. Do all network cards work properly? Please log in on the console, issue "ifconfig" and check whether all cards are there.

    Hi Dennis,

    I already said this in my first posting. All interfaces were up, and also the routing was OK.

    The problem must have been somehow connected to the APIC/Hardware-problem with my ASUS CUVX-D-board.

    See thread "ASUS CUVX-D not supported by ASL 4.008+ ?" how Dennis helped me to fix my problem.
