Migration to ASL v4 on P133

Hello,

yesterday I updated my private ASL firewall system to v4. It's running on a P133 with 64MB RAM and a 3GB HDD (covering an ADSL line). Until now it's running without problems.

I only had to lay hands on the httpd configuration file (/etc/httpd/httpd.conf) because I changed the Webadmin port.

Good to hear. I was just going through posts, trying to see if Astaro Linux Firewall can be run on the ol' Compaq P-II 300 that I've allocated for a firewall box.

My ASL 4v crashed on a pII350/544MB/13GB
Works fine on my pIII500/512mb/13gb

I have had ASL running on a Celeron 300 w/ 256 MB of RAM for 3+ weeks with no problems. I will continue to monitor it's stability and report back later.

My PII-300, 128MB, 1.8GB HDD has been up for 108 days without problem, running VPN and regular packet filtering.

See also the "Minimum Hardware Requirements" thread starting with message no 23463 for further info. on this subject.

I have mine running on a pII 233 with 128MB's of memory, 8GB hard drive, and has been up and running 4.0x since march. With VPN, standard packet filters and spam filtering without any issues.

I just installed V4 on my P133, 20GB HD, 128MB, and 3 3COM 3c-905C-TX NIC's. VPN, packet filtering, NAT/Masquerading, port forwarding is all working flawlessly and CPU usage is averaging 21%. When I had 5 VPN users connected, it spiked to 45% for a short period while the sessions were being established...

Still running without propblems. The usability of WebAdmin has improved and I am very satisfied :-). Thanks a lot to Astaro for some proper work.

This is good to hear. I will try it on a P-133 I have. Had problems before but i think that was due to hardware.

Will try again next week.
