Hello,

I just installed ASL 4.008. During installation I was asked for the IP address of "Internal" ethernet card. I gave the address of 192.168.10.1. I wanted to give it a default gateway of a.b.c.d (Gateway for our company) so I could administer (WedAdmin) it from my desk computer (not having a private address, but a company address of a.b.c.x) but it would take a gateway according to the netmask. So when I did a https://192.168.10.1 from my workstation, I got nothing. I re-installed the whole thing giving a company Internal IP of a.b.c.y (with gateway a.b.c.d) and when I tried to access the webAdmin from my workstation, it worked. But, this is not what I want. I want the Internal IP to be a private address and still be able to access webAdmin from outside. Is this at all possible. We tried ASL eval version (2.0) sometime back and we were able to acheive this though I do not remember how. Any help would be appreciated.

    You can do as you ask. I have a system with 3 nics. 1 private and 2 public. I can access WebAdmin from all three. 

    The private nic has no default gateway. The public nic has a default gw. This way, when I'm on the private lan, I can access Webadmin via the public or private IP. When I'm on the outside coming in from the public side, I can access webadmin via the public ip.

    The private nic does not need a default gw because you will probably just masq or nat the private lan out the public nic.

    What is the IP that you assigned during installation for eth0 (Isn't that the default card if you have more than one)?

    I noted the mac address of each nic before I installed them. This way i can assign my ip for the internal lan to the mac that matches eth0.

    eth0 is 192.168.10.1
    eth1 and eth2 are public with assigned ip and gateway from ISP.
