enjoying a very good first experience with ASL except for the following issue:
Problem: loss of connection from LAN to ASL machine every few hours.
Debug so far: kernel log says
Jun 7 10:21:48 (none) kernel: eth0: Abnormal interrupt, status 00002020.
Hardware: Pentium III 500MHz, 256MB RAM tested good, 3 NICs - 2 x 3Com905 + 1 x Realtek RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+, the latter being the LAN interface (eth0) card.
- so, it seems the Realtek card is the problem. I'm aware that this family of cards can cause trouble on some Linux systems, but as far as I can tell from the HCL, it's supposed to be supported by ASL. I also read most of the threads dealing with Realtek in this forum, but didn't find any reference to the particular error code cited. Please excuse any redundancy by way of newbieness.
Question: can this be fixed, e.g driver- or config-wise, or is my next stop the local PC shop for a new NIC?
Aside: I also get the following entry on boot. Don't know if it's at all related, but it would still be nice to know if it's of any significance:
