Dual boot with ASL and W2K

Hello,
for testing purposes, since I don't have a dedicated PC, I need to iinstall Astaro in a dual boot environment with W2k.
I wonder if I can do that and if special tricks are required.
I have some experiences of installing Linux & W2K in dual boot mode with Lilo.

    Hello jumar,

    sorry, but the installation routine of ASL will  completely erase your complete hard disk.

    You should either
    - have an old machine (at least PII, 8GB) to play around
    - install VMWARE on your W2K machine (you could download an Eval) and run inside your ASL installation

    I haven't done this but you might be able to install ASL as normal and then add a second harddisk and install W2K to the second drive.  You should then have the W2K boot menu with an option to boot ASL (DOS, Other or whatever W2K calls it).

    running it inside vmware would not be an option for a production firewall as emulation is just too dam slow and you have the problem with both operating systems fighting for the pci bus and cpu calls.
