Checksums did NOT match

I'm having trouble installing ASL.  Downloaded via USA site and burned ISO using Adaptec EasyCD v4 on Windows 2000.  md5 checksums confirmed to be correct.  Installing on a PC that meets or exceeds hardware requirements.

Install takes me up to step 8, then fails checksums.

ALT+F3 shows:

Checking md5 sums
astaro_inst.dat: OK
oss_inst.dat: FAILED
/bin/md5sum: WARNING: 1 of 2 computed checksums did NOT match
md5sum chain returned 256.

I'm trying a second CD drive, but still no joy.  Any help would be most appreciated.

    I had the same issue brand new system Asus board, 2Ghz Celeron,  256megs DDR333 a very nice firewall (more then needed)

    I got the same checksum failed.   Burned over 6 CDRs from 4 downloads of Version 4 of ASL from other sites.

    I was using some cheapy CDRs 48x compatible.  I had a good stack of TDKs laying around so I used them.   SOON as I did that it went right through no issues.

    SO there is some type of read error during that time with cheap CDRs.  I have duplicated this issue with other very cheap CDRs.    So try using other brands guys that may work.

    Same Problem, different reason.
    After reading all these postings I´ve tried a few RAM-Sticks, changed the HDD, the IDE-Cables and burned different versions with nero, fireburner etc.. I spent about 6 hours. But finally...

    I replaced the Samsung CD-Rom with an very old TEAC drive and... SUCCESS

    . All other changes (RAM, HDD...) had definately no effect.
