Friends,
My asl 4.00 freezes up at install time when the message comes up on the screen "Hardware is now being detected". No matter how long I let it detect hardware it won't proceed. Also the numlock and scrolllock lights on the keyboard don't react and I can even eject the cdrom ...
This same machine has worked very well and stably as a win98 machine and then for three months as a smoothwall firewall and it also boots up the knoppix 3.2 debian linux just fine.
Is there anything I can do (boottime parameters?) to stop it from scanning certain hardware etc etc? There is nothing unusual about this hardware at all that I could think of.
