Installation doesn't detect any networkcards

Hi,

I have a HP Vectra VL PII 450mhz with a 3Com 3C905B 10/100 network card. The machine has been used with win95 before in a lan environment.

Now the installation of ASL 4.x won't recognize the card. Iv'e even tried with two other network cards (3com and Repotec) and i have switched the cards to different pci slots. Still no luck.

I've updated the computer BIOS and it still doesn't work.

Any clues?

how far do you get? does the installer work? does it finish? does it boot after install?

It stops just after the hardware detection. Since it can't find any network cards im not able to continue the installation.

The problem is solved. I´ve tried 6 different types of network cards, two of them was detected.

The strange thing is that two of the other cards i've tried was installed on a newer machine with asl 4 that i used before to try out the new version.

Must be some hardware problem with this computer. Anyway, now it works.
