if you know the driver name for the card you could easily edit
/etc/modules.conf

I did this on my first 3.2 install, as I wanted 3 NICs, but the box only had 3 PCI slots, so I had to install, and once it was up and running, replace the VGA card with the 3rd NIC, SSH in and change modules.conf, and reboot. All worked fine for me.
