Just bought a Flex ATX computer to upgrade my firewall. (Woo hoo! no more suffering with PI 100). Its an FIC Crusader, which comes with a PCI-PCMCIA bridge card. The Chipset is Ricoh R5C551. Not sure if I am supposed to do anything special to get it to work, I put in a Dllink-650 card inside and did the install - the PCMCIA card was not mentioned after the hardware scan. S ince so many Ricoh chipsets are supported I was hoping to ask the fine Astaro people to add support to this one too. I was thinking maybe its just not listed in the supported list or something. I know nothing of such things, but I am assuming if so many Ricoh chipsets are supported, why not this one?
On the upside, I am really happy with the upgrade. It used to take a good 40-50 secs for me to just switch pages in WebAdmin, now its pretty much instantanious. Makes playing with firewall config a lot more fun. Also asraro 4.0 is very cool, the astaro guys have once again done a bang up job. I have been using your product for almost 2 years now and have no complains, I am excited to finally be able to pay you back buy getting some of my clients to switch to astaro.
Thanks,
-roman
