ASL 4 3nics vs. 2nics

I've got the weirdest thing going on.  I'm installing ASL 4.0 on two identical machines.  Identical meaning hardware also, except one has 3 3-com nics and the other has 2 3-com nics.  Here's the funny part, the one with 3 nics sends no messages, but is detected by ASL and the ip is pushed eth0 and everything.  The one with 2 nics works like a champ.  Any suggestions?

    That was the problem, but it turned out I had a bad pci slot.  Who would've thought.  Now I'm having other issues.  Nothing's coming in or out of my network.  I can ping the external interface from my internal Lan, but not further than that.  [:(]
