Hi all,
I just installed V4 from CD on a system with 3 3com 3C905c's. Plugged in my LAN and WAN cables (DMZ interface left alone since I realize I can't test that with the eval version).
I added a "WAN" interface, provisioned it with our static IP and other info (that I know work), and attached the interface to one of the 3 nics. Plugged in the cable from our WAN into the WAN nic, got a good link light.
Tried to Enable the WAN interface, and while it initially shows a "green dot", the interface status on the same page shows the interface as DOWN, with ????'s in the ip/mask fields. If I reload the page, both the "dot" and the text indicate the WAN interface is DOWN. So, the problem is simply that I can't activate the WAN interface for some reason.
This is so basic. What am I doing wrong?
Also, I tried to change the IP of the LAN interface via WebAdmin and it didn't let me do it ("it's still in use"). So, I gather I have to ssh/login in and hack some config files, right? Before I go destroying things, anyone care to enlighten me on where this is stored so I can get it right the first time?
TIA,
-Doug
