I have tried a Compaq WL200 PCI wlan nic, but without success.. I have not have any time to look further into it, but it seems that the card uses a Cirrus Logic PCI-2-PCMCIA chipset. (it is supposed to be a "pure" pci card). The card is based on the Prism chip which should be supported. I recall that the class of the card was not 0200 which the other nics are.
Please let me know which card you are trying to use!
I'm using an ELSA Airlancer Socket 0: product info: "ELSA", "AirLancer MC-11", "Version 01.01", "" manfid: 0x0156, 0x0002 function: 6 (network) which is based on PRISM2 (HERMES) in the Airlancer PCI-Adapter (Texas Instruments PCI-to-PCMCIA-Adapter).
This hardware is recognised in ASL 4.000 as wlan interface. But the configured interface remains down. In my to-be-replaced-selfmade-soft-accesspoint based on SuSE Linux 7.3 the card works just fine.
