Rename NIC without deleting it

Hi!
At the time of instalation NIC which is on iner site of FW is named eth0.
Is there any chance to rename eth0 without having to delete it?

Best regards, Matjaz

  • If you change a NIC name in /etc/wfe/itf.conf, the configurations for the spesfic NIC (read: NAT, routing, etc) will refer to the old 'NIC name'.
In such case, you will have to edit the firewall configuration for the NIC. I will say it would be easier to remove the settings, remove the card and re-add it with a new name.

Correct me if I am wrong!
