Intel Pentium 4 architecture problem ?

I have a problem installing ASTARO 3.209 using DELL Dimension PC model 4550 :
the 1st screen for Software Installation menu doesn't appear.
Installation works when using DELL model 4500-S

PCI Chipset are Intel 800 serie on both model
only PCI channel speed seems to be different.

As we are in the process to buy DELL PowerEdge servers build on the same architecture, I'm wondering if they will be supported !!!

People using brand new platform should have the same problem, isn'it ?

What ASTARO support team says about this ?

    could you please try the latest beta version
    available at ftp.astaro.com, but check first if
    your CD will install on another system!

    We won't apply any major changes to the current
    release but we are willing to check it for the
    next version which is expected shortly - don't 
    ask when exactly you won't receive an answer

    I've just tested the latest beta 3.380 :
    - 1st on a "standard" PII-333 : installation program works fine
    - 2nd on a new architecture P4 2.4 GHz "Dell Dimension 4550" : installation program stop   [:(]

    at which point does the install fail? What kind of error do you get if you switch to 2nd and 3rd console (CTRL+F2; CTRL+F3).

    Hello,

    I have the same problems with DELL Dimension 4550 2,4 GHz, 3Com NIC, AVM Fritz Card.

    The point at which it hangs itself up:

    INIT: version 2.78 booting

    To this time there is no chance to change the consoles.

    I tested the CD with a DELL Dimension 4500 2Ghz, 2 x 3C905C NIC, 1 AVM Fritz Card. No problems.
