ASL 3.2 and Cable modem

Hello All

I have ASL 3.214 connected to Cable modem, and dynamic IP’s 

No QOS rule at all.
The interface never up !?
I try to connect it to ADSL modem (alcatel)  and I have the same problem.

There is a link, and if I take the LAN cable and connect it to a computer I can surf.
The error at the daemon:
timeout waiting for PADO packets
can not connect DSL AC - retry in 900 seconds 

I need help

    My Cable modem ISP only accepts DHCP requests from the NIC they supplied me with. So, I moved that NIC into my ASL box for the external interface, and then it all works fine.

    Worth checking it out...

    As to being tied to a specific NIC, you don't have to be tied to the one NIC (cable ISPs typically lock the lease to the first NIC they see from your modem).  Call the ISP and say to release the DHCP lease because you have replaced the NIC and need the new one to work.  If you say ASL or firewall they will balk, so just say you have a new computer and want to use the NIC it has instead of the supplied card.
    Some ISPs are clever enough to recgonize the NIC id of those SOHO routers and will block.  I can't imagine they are blocking normal NICs except to only allow the first one that got the lease.
