3.209 Installion freezes

hallo,

on the step to recognize the hardware the sytstem will immediately freeze. no num-lock no str+alt+entf will work ?

my hardware:

P133
128 MB-SDRAM
3,4 GB IDE HD
CD-Rom
2 x PCI Realtek 8139 NIC
1 x Hercules Stingray GraKa
Gigabyte GA-586TX3 Mainbord

3.207 freezes too - 2.xx no freezes

from your specs I can't really see why the installation freezes, but 3.2XX on a P133 wouldn't be recommendable anyway.

i think not - if it would work - than without proxyserver - antivirus -

on my ipcop-box (www.ipcop.org) with p75, isa nic,
200 - 400 simultaneously connections the cpu is about 20 - 40 %

sodele - with an other GraKa (ATI) it works,
it seem that the old Hercules GraKa has errors

I suspect the problem has to do with the Realtek NIC. I had similar problems on a 500MHz Dell system. I don't know exactly why, but I've had problems using Realtek NICs, even though they're on the HCL. On one system, I had to make it the internal NIC to get it to keep a steady connection through a DSL line. On another system, I couldn't even connect to the management interface with the NIC installed and configured as internal. I posted something on this back in September or October about this.
