Problem with ASL and T-DSL

I've setup my T-DSL connection in the Interfaces list with dynamic IP's. But the Link is NEVER going up.

So. i've looked into the daemon-log and found following lines:

> pppoe[4788]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
> logger: DSL : Can not connect DSL AC - retry in 900 seconds

So... my Question is: what's wrong with my configuration. If i connect with other Linux'es oder WinXP the connection work's fine with the same User/Pass.

p0pSi,

this message indicates that you don't have a physical
connection to the concentrator.

1) check LEDs on the modem
2) check cabling

If the first try to connect doesn't succeed the
firewall sets a timer of 900s for reconnection.
Did you wait so long?

Yes. I've waited for about 4 or 5 retry's but nothing happens... So. i decided to test the connection on my winXP notebook... and voilat.. it works fine.

what else could it be ?! [:(]

you have to use a chrossover-cable between the dsl-modem and your nic...

Urm... The used cable is a crossover. cuz it works fine with my windows pc. the only problem is, that the ASL box shows the error...

It has to ba a bug in the pppoe or something like that, i think.

i am using t-dsl without any problems... got the latest version? does astaro recognize your nic?

between the asl and the t-dsl-modem have to be a normal ethernet-cable. no crossover for pppoe.

be sure to have your ASL updated.....I had some problems after basic installation too, but after the updates my Telekom DSL connection works fine. Havent had any trouble for ages!

I've got the same problem with German TDSL. ASL could not start the Internet Connection.. but no error in shown in the Logfiles. what can i do?

maybe it will help; try making the connection work without any of the qos settings of the nic enabled.
