No response from Firewall

Hello,

I do have the same problem on 2 seperate machine on which is Astaro 2.030 installed on.
After installation everything seems ok, but after a few hours or sometimes a day. The Firewall hangs completely. On my screen there is the login message but no respons on keyboard or pings.

Whats going on?

    Could be numerous things. Are the two boxes identical?

    1) Try using the new version of Astaro (3.2xx)

    2) Otherwise check physical things such as;

      Memory seating (take the chips out and put them back in)
      CPU Cooling fan operation
      IO Card seating (pull them out and put them back in)
      Press down all socketed chips on motherboard

    Does not "sound" like an Astaro related issue more of a hardware freeze.

    Ton,

    have a look at /var/log/kernel and see if the NIC
    causes the trouble! Search for "NETDEV" messages,
    they are indicating those kind of problems!

    Another idea is spoof protection, search in the same
    file for "SPOOF", if that's the problem you'd have
    to check your cabling for nrtwork loops.
