Astaro max nic speed

We are investigating different firewall solutions for a university:

The current campus network is fast so a firewall solution may not cause performance drop.

My router is a cisco gigabit router

Is it possible to put gigabit nic's in a astaro firewall, so it can be placed in behind this router?

Can i do load balance ?
Can i make create redundancy ?

Hi eelco,

Yes you can use Gigabit NIC's in Astaro, as long as the license you purchase allows for it. See http://docs.astaro.org/HCL-3.20.txt under the Ethernet Gigabit section.

As for load balancing and redundancy, you can do those as well. Read the manual from http://docs.astaro.org/manual/asl-3.2-manual.pdf =)

I assume that you have meant firewall loadbalancing
- you'd need loadbalancers in front and/or behind
the firewall.
