Caught in reboot-loop!

Hi,
here are a few possible errors and solutions:

- your cd has errors, so the ramdiks can't be loaded; try your cd in another pc (but remember to quit install before formatting   [;)]  
- if the cd is working, try another cd rom. There are known problems with fast CD Roms (though we have quite a few 52X working well in our testlab..)
- if it doesn't work on the other pc, check the iso you have burned (checksums) and burn again, possibly using another CD writing program. Keep to the ASL-burning-howto.

If that doesn't solve your problem, report back here[:)]

Hello,

I installed Astaro 3.209 an everything worked fine.
After i turned the firewall off and put in on net a day later everytime ASL wants to load the kernel my machine reboots.

I tried to reinstall from the same cd i used the first time but i got the same problem genphlux has. my machine keeps rebooting!

machine specs:
Athlon K6 333MHz
192 MB SDRAM

 ASL 3.2x doesn't support dual processors. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with your problem, but perhaps somefeedback from the Astaro folks.

That should not be the problem. A kernel compiled without SMP support should run on a dual processor machine; of course, it will only use one processor.
Since that posting is over 1 month old, I assume that it works now.

For s34get, I would propose a reinstall with a new medium. In rare cases we have heard of file corruption errors, most likely a reiserfs problem. It might be that it hit your kernel image. Probably a coincidence that your installation medium does not work any more, too. You might cross-check your medium with another machine, just make sure you exit installation before you get formatted   [:)]

i tried to install debian on this machine and it didnt work either. so i think this is a hardware problem.   [:(]
