USB keyboard for v3.207

Can someone please advise if the current version of ASL has USB keyboard support built into its kernel?
I run into a frozen installation when the box got only USB ports and no regular AT keyboard port. The system hangs after loading RAMdisk and up to the message:
"Freeing unused kernel memory: 56k freed"
Can someone please help? [:S]

What maybe puzzling is that, I just tried a regular Redhat 7.2 install, and it seems to work fine.  At least the keyboard is typing after loading the boot image.
I own a beta version of ASL 2.1 and have tried that as well.  It got to the "Start installation" screen but keyboard is not responding.  Of course that was beta so things can be wrong.
My machine is a VIA C3 with VIA8601 chipset.  Would that be the source for the problem?

no USB support right nowe in ASL 3.20X

Does that mean I would never be able to install if all I have in my box is USB port, and I can only use an USB keyboard?
Does the kernel message where the installation stopped tell us something? Anyone?
