How to install without boot from cdrom...???

My bios do not support this feature(boot from cd).no bios upgrade(very old bios).
Motherboard Assus (SCSI) very,very old version..
Boot sequence : A,C or C,A ....
It is any chance to install???(maybe a boot diskete)

You cannot install ASL 3.2 unless you can boot from CD. I have read that you can install ASL 2.0 from a boot floppy then update to 3.2 via up2date... Hope that helps..

There is an FAQ on how to build a boot LINUX diskette that will mount the CDROM and load that way.

It is either in the online FAQ or the user manual. I read it when I was looking for a way to install of a network hard drive. But SAMBA support is not provided in this boot diskette....

I had the same problem, trying to install Astaro 3.2. My bios did not support CD boot. I found this wonderful little boot manager that installs on a floppy (or hd). It allows you to boot from any device found on your computer.
You can download "Smart Boot Manager" from.

I see the dos exe, how do you use it? Do you have to create a dos boot floppy and load a cdrom driver too?

ya, i use the exe version and i create a bootdiskette. i boot from this floppy and ....you will see how to boot from cd-rom(a menu will help you, only that....)..
work`s for my old bios and a sony cdu401 cdrom...
