Initial Install

I was trying to install 3.203 on a virgin machine.  I downloaded and burned a cd.  Thew cd starts fine and begins to load and then I get a message "In idle task - not syncing".

The system freezes and nothing else happens.

Any suggestions.

    The system board is based on the VIA694T/686B chipset.  It has a built-in enhanced PCI Bus Master IDE Controller with Ultra DMA 33/66/100 support.  The controller supports Ultra DMA 100 protocol, Standard PIO Mode 3, PIO Mode 4, DMA Mode 2, DMA Mode 4, UltraDMA-100 Mode 5.  I currently have a new unpartitioned Western Digital 20 GB EIDE drive Model # WD200.

    Michael,

    makes me believe that the installation CD has
    an error. Did you check the md5sum of your download?
    If you used NERO for burning try another program,
    we had several reports of problems with NERO.

    Another interesting thing would be the output of
    the third console.
