SMP aware?

Hello,

I've been using an old Pentium 86 as a firewall with IPCop installed on it, and I just found this product while looking for firewalls at work. 

I doubt that astaro will run on an 86 mhz chip with 32 megs of RAM, but I do have a dual PPro 200 mhz system, 1 M L2 cache, 256 megs of RAM, that I might use, however, I don't know if astaro is SMP capable. That's why I'm asking... heh.

Also, I use a dial-up modem at home, for the moment. I haven't found anything to indicate Astaro supports this - does it?

    In the moment Astaro doesn't support SMP, and for the moment it also doesn't support dialup. But in the Hackers/Beta forum I've read that for dialup is somthing in the pipe.

    Hmmm ... seems Astaro doesn't really fit your circumstances.
    Have a look at the fli4ls page.
    fli4l is a little linux router you can run from a disk. It supports dial ups, etc. and has many modules you can "plug in" (such as packet filtering, VPN, dyndns updates, ... maybe even a smp plugin). It also has a windows clients for monitoring/configuration purposes. Also a great produkt!
