3.202 comes and goes...

Hello all.  Hopefully someone can help me with this one...

I have recently installed 3.202 and have had flaky internet connectivity issues with the exteral interface.  Sometime it is available from the outside, sometimes it is not.  Sometimes I can VPN, ping, HTTPS to administer it, other times I cannot and it appears to be random.

I have no connectivity issues on the internal network, the firewall is always reachable.

I have checked with my ISP and they say everyting is fine on their side.  But I expected that.

Has anyone had similar problems?

    check the kernel log for IP-Spoofing and in the WebAdmin-Reporting->Network for errors on this interface.

    I checked to be sure there were no errors on the NIC and no SPOOF entries in the KERNEL logs.

    More info about the system's config...

    Cyrix MII/333 processor, don't know motheboard.
    128mb RAM
    6.4gb HD
    Internal interface, IntelPro 100 NIC
    External interface, 3Com 3c905c

    I did have a SMC net card but replaced it with the 3Com and the problem persists.

    Anything else?

    I'm pretty sure you allready did this, but ...
    Did you check the network cable?
    Maybe it has a slack joint!?

    Keefers,

    remove default gateways on all interfaces except
    teh external one. Remove QoS settings in case
    you run a DSL machine.

    Hello all;

    I had no QoS settings, but I did have a default gateway for the internal network.  I removed it and that solved the problem.

    I'm using the ASL 3.202 on my server machine. I got the similar problem with keefers'.When I first setup the admin interface, everything is working fine. I configured all the options that I need on my network. Then I setup the external IP which is a public IP. After that I got the IP spoofing problem. When I use the Webadmin to continue configuring the firewall, it will kick me out the connection after a certain period. Then I try to ping the firewall, it failed. So I have to open the firewall terminal to ping back my workstation. After I can ping my workstation again, the connection will become normal. But it will happen again later on... What can I do with that?...Is that a problem the public interface and internal interface are on the same switch during the testing process??....And do I need to assign the firewall's internal IP as the default gateway on all of my workstations? Please help...!
