PPPoE NIC always down ???

Hello there,

I have just install Astaro 3.202 on my PC which has 3 NIC:
eth0 for local network (10.0.2.0)
eth1 for internet connection (DSL)
eth2 for DMZ (10.0.1.0)

After installation, I started Firewall configuration but during Network configuration, I have encountered some problems on my eth1 interface, it always show me that eth1 is down!!! I configured this NIC with PPP over Ethernet. 
My two other NIC is configured with standard ethernet and they work great, they are up!

When I pass my eth1 NIC like standard ethernet, it works correctly (become UP) and I can ping my DSL modem.

I specify that my eth1 and my eth2 NIC are on the same card (it's a dual port)

so anyone have an idea for me???

    Hi guez,

    what means "ping the DSL-Modem"?

    There exists some DSL-Modems which are routers with a own ip.
    If your Modem is "pingable" i would guess that you don't need to use pppoe on your ASL at all.

    Just configure your Modems ip as default gw on eth1 and enjoy.

    no my modem haven't the router function. It just have an IP that you can connect on it by web access for administration and configuration of the modem.

    Please take a look at the daemon-log. (Logfiles/Daemon).
    Is there any error message of the pppd or the pppoe?

    That is the problem:
    Jul 18 18:07:00 saturne pppoe[6448]: Ignoring PADO packet from non-unicast MAC address

    Which means that your DSL-Modem has a mullticast or broadcast mac address.

    So this problem is not ASL related.

    Contact your ISP or your DSL-Modem vendor.
