new install, smooth untill reboot..what is my login and password?

Installing on a IBM Netfinity 4000R.  I used the installation defaults, with no Ethernet cables connected to the machine.  I am trying to learn the program, so this is experimental.

My install went smoothly.  Then the machine rebooted and I was left a promt.

What am I supposed to do, it never asked me for a login or password setting during the first part of the installation.  

This is very disheartening after the install went so smooth up until this point.  Why would they not include a read me file with the download?  So So very very strange.

Any help would be great, thank you!

    Ok, you need to connect the internal interface, then get on one of the computers on that network and point a web browser at ">https:// which will bring up a web page where you can set all the passwords, then login to setup the firewall.

    YO, thanks for the help, but I tried that.  But obviously I did something wrong.  I connected my cable modem with its fixed IP to my NIC-1 port, and my notebook directly to the NIC-2 with a cross over cable.  I tried to connect via the admin web page like you suggested, but I could not even ping it.  The NIC settings on my notebook were one past that of the admin page, like a P to P network.  Should I use a diffrent set of settings for my notebook?

    Hi,

    you should try _all_ NICs on your ASL box. PLease pay attention on the LED on the NIC you connected - it should light when you plug in the cable.
