I take it you mean PowerChute-type functionality, where if the power goes off and the UPS goes to battery, the Astaro box can shut itself down if the AC power stays off too long.
I don't believe that is supported, however, it should be possible to add that support provided that the Kernel has support for serial ports. (which I think the support is there as 'serial.o' is in the modules dir)
Of course, you would want to make sure that any daemon you add is as secure as possible......
