installing on VIA chipset & AMD K62 ???

Hello there,
is it possible 2 install the ASL 3.2 on a K6-2 system with VIA chipsets ??
the problem i have is that the hardware detection hungs up !? or just do not go on...   [:S]   
other hardware i have should work...refer 2 the compbility list.
intel NIC
3com NIC
seagate 6GB HD (very old but works fine, there is a RED HAT 7.3 system still running...
toshiba CDROM (i think it is not 2 fast)

    Why not?

    Can you replace K6 with Pentium on installation time, maybe here was hardware detection routine error?
    I think real kernel would works fine.

    I am currently running Astaro v3.2 on a K6 200Mhz and VIA chipset motherboard (cannot remember the exact chipset).  No problems here with it.  However I do not use the DHCP client.

    Installing 3.05 beta I encountered the same problem and again when I installed 3.2 It would completely lock up while detecting Hardware.

    I had to change out some memory sticks for install, and make sure your HDD is set to "Normal" in the bios, and that it meets the 8gb minimum... then just keep trying, once you have it installed you will not have any problems..

    I had to load the "failsafe defaults" in my bios as well.

    also another thing that helped is when I burned the image containing Astaro, the install seemed to work alot better when I used a Quality name brand 40x capable CD-R disk, and I burned it at 2x..
