Installation Problems with Lilo

i have tried installing 3.2 on the system i ran version 2 and every time i do when it goes to load i just see LI 
i tried using a rescue disk and going in and typing the lilo -r /emergency 
and when i rebooted it did the same thing.
any ideas?

    The problem is that the disk geometry the BIOS is presenting to the boot loader is incompatible with the filesystem ASL 3 uses.

    What you have to do is change the BIOS settings for the drive from "AUTO", "LBA" or "LARGE" to "NORMAL". I can't describe the field names exactly without rebooting my machine, but this is usually on the first page of settings named "Basic..."
