Are there any templates. I have installed 3.2, both of my nics are recognized but I still can't get it to work. I would hate to have to use a Windows firewall.
Yes I have assignedthem IPs ethO (internal)ip 192.168.2.100 (static) netmask 255.255.255.0 eth1 (extern) 172.17.2.250 (static) netmask 255.255.255.255 (the 172.17.2.250 is internal to my router. the external ip of 216.201.205.123 points to it) I do not get a reply when I ping this ip. Initially I added a packet filtering rule of From Client: Any Service: Any to Server: Any Action: Any. This did not work so I deleted it and set up from eth0 network to extern_network for DNS HTTP HTTPS and so on. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks
Packet Filter -> Rules: eth0_network any any allow ( green )
That is all
Bye
Jaume
Jaume, Thanks for your reply. I did as you suggested except that I used 172.17.2.250 as the external nic address. the 216.201.205.126 is external to my router. It still does not work.
I also have a router before my ASL Firewall and I use the IP address of my router as external address in my firewall(eth1), the default gateway of my router as gateway in my firewall and the netmask of my router as netmask in my firewall and it works fine.
Jorge, perhaps I've not read throughly through this, but there is one thing that bugs me here.
Why do you have a 32 (or 255.255.255.255) netmask on your external interface?? It makes no sense to me (doesnt necessary mean too much [;)] that the external part of your ASL should connect to?
Do you have another firewall/router outside of your ASL? And if so, what is the INTERNAL IP and NETMASK of that machine.
