Hi,
I'm just evaluating Astaro against pix. Tried to install on a Proliant 1600 450Mhz, 256 RAM w. Smart 2/DH 3.08 rev c, Proliant Netelligent onboard NIC and 2 Intel NIC.
At Step 3 the hardware detection shows no Disk and if I hit Enter, Astaro seems to try to write Data and crashes.
This server is currently running Mandrake Linux 8.1 Kernel 2.4.5 without trouble, during boot the Module Compaq2P 2.4.5 is loaded. It was detected by Mandrake automatically. The Server is currently
booting from floppy and contains a system partition, a linux and a DOS partition.
lspci on mandrake detects the Smart-2/P RAID Controller familiy correctly:
Class 0180: 0e11:ae10 (rev 03)
According to Compaq Linux Ref the Smart 2/P Array and 2/DH Array are of the same Subsystem ID 0e11:4030
This seems a bit confusing as 0e11:ae10 was listed as pci id in astaros older asl-pci-ids.txt but according topciids.sourceforge.net 0e11:ae10 is just the controller familiy that contains Subsystem ID 4030, 4031, 4032, 4033
We would currently need support for 4030 (2/P, 2/DH) and 4031 (2SL).
The Proliant Netelligent onboard NIC is also not detected, but I can live with that, the Smart Driver is a matter of Astaro or not Astaro.
Is there any way how I can continue to work on this without having to wait for the next astaro release, because I must report on this evaluation one day?
