Manually upload update file on ASL 3.050

Hello.

The Up2Date don't work. It connects to the server but find no update.

Because of that I've manually downloaded both updates to my workstation and uploaded them to the firewall, but it makes nothing.

I've seen that they appear in /tmp as a temporary file of the web server, so the file is uploaded correctly.

Why it doesn't open the update? How do I know if the update worked?

    I had the same problem and think I found the solution (well at least it work for me)

    Download the update manualy then import it using WebAdmin into the astaro box, but it won't appear in the list of update to install!

    Next

    - login to the astaro box with your root account
    - change to the 
    /var/recovery/incoming

    Download the update manualy then import it using WebAdmin into the astaro box, but it won't appear in the list of update to install!

    Next

    - login to the astaro box with your root account
    - change to the 
                  /var/recovery/incoming    directory
    - you should see the update file there but the naming is not correct that why it is not shown in WebAdmin.
    -rename the file to the '3.051.tar.gpg' format

    ie if your file is named d:\linuxastaro3.051.tar.gpg

    rename to: 3.051.tar.pgp

    then go back to the webadmin up2date page it should now appear there, simply click install then wait...

    remember to refresh the webadmin page if you don't see the uptodate there.

    the command to rename file on linux is below if you need to know

    mv current_name new_name

    I also had problem importing the file using opera 6.01

    Thanks.

    I had configured the gateway just before trying to download the updates.

    The machine pinged correctly, but after rebooting the machine the update worked :-O

    I don't know if the default gateway didn't work completely ok until the next reboot :-?
