triple homed setup.. a few ??'s

GREEN (internal)
ip: 192.168.0.2
sm: 255.255.255.0
gw: ? not sure WHAT to put here

RED (public)
ip: 208.190.96.197
sm: 255.255.255.248 (small 5 ip subnet)
gw: 208.190.96.198

ORANGE (dmz) not used
ip: 10.0.0.1
sm: 255.255.255.0
gw: ? not sure

gateway order, this is where i get confused...

i DO have a packet filter rule that allows ALL out on ANY prot to ANY server. This is turned on.  I can use the proxy no problemo, but i can't seem to get OUT through this thing..

my workstation has ASL as its gateway, and using the DNS Proxy for resolution. This works i know, becuase i can do an nslookup and it comes back with the name of the proxy and returns values.

what should the GREEN and ORANGE gateway be? also, what order should i have the gateway order set?

great product, i just need to get out on something other than http throught thr proxy now!!!

    I asked this very same question. Right now I've got RED(eth1) GW set to my DSL router, My GREEN (eth0) GW set to the IP of eth1 interface. And GW preference doesn't seem to have any effect. I'd like to know exactly how these setting work. I plan on adding a DMZ to my ASL box but need some answers first. Someone please help us out here.

    my setup goes like this...

    DSL modem to a 5 port 10/100 switch

    Sonicwall TELE3 has .193 .194 .195 .196 in 1 to 1 NAT for my primary webserver and 3 machines.

    ASL box has .197 for now. With the plans to move it to handle all 5 of my public ips once it goes to 3.2 and i get a better grasp of the rules and such.

    I DID notice something last night that was strange. i was messing wiht the Default GW of the GREEN if and i set it to .198 (which woudl be the top end of my subnet and gateway through my dsl modem) and i was going out through the SONICWALL???  maybe i need to take the sonicwall out of the picture entirely..  just use a Xover cable to my workstation and have hte ASL and my workstaion behind it as the only device until i get the rules and config figured out.

    I am NOT using the ORANGE interface (DMZ) for now, its setup at 10.0.0.1 with a sm 255.255.255.0 and i am not sure of the gw to point it to...

    MAsQ now has it working!!!

    i just created a masquerade from my private to the RED interface and all is good..
