Realtek NIC

Hi,

I have Astaro running on a machine with 3 ethernet interfaces. One of them is an INTEL "onboard" and I don't have any kind of problems with that one. On the other hand, ASL doesn't recognize the other two NIC's that are Realtek RTL-8139 wich should be recognized, accordingly to the list of NIC's supported.

If I go to a shell and do an ifconfig, it just show me the Intel interface and the same happens in the WebAdmin.


Appreciate some help on this.

    I'm running ASL 3.05

    By the way, I reinstalled ASL with two D-Link NIC's and it's OK for now.

    Same thing happened to me too. I used three Realtek RTL-8139 (DLink) of which two was recognized. I ran the RH7.2 Installer to make sure the third NIC was properly plugged in, it was. Then I replaced the third NIC with a 3Com one and all three showed up.

    Has anyone else had these problems with D-Link/Realtek cards and chipsets...? I'm looking to buy a set of network cards and I was actually considering the D-Link cards that use the Realtek chipset, but I don't want to run into the problem of the cards not being detected. I was planning to use Astaro 3.2.
    If anyone knows of any good deals on other NICs right now that might be helpful...

    I have used Intel Pro, 3Com 3905x, and currently at home am running:
    Davicom Semiconductor, Inc. Ethernet 100/10 MBit  Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139 

    All without any problems, on 3.x
