Do astaro support dhcp assigned ipaddress from my ISP??
Or do i need a static ip?

The current production version can support DHCP if you add in the files found in the attic.http://docs.astaro.org/attic/dhcp

The new version 3.x that is being beta tested has DHCP client and server support built in.

Craig,

I have the beta 3.050 installed, how can check if I am really getting an IP from the ISP.

The system seems not getting out even though I have wide open rules.

ao: ssh to your firewall and run ifconfig..

The ipconfig report error that the coammnd is not found. I guess the command is not available on the firewall.

ifconfig is located in /sbin so it won't work for the loginuser. /sbin/ifconfig helps...
