I'm trying to install ASL on an old AMD-K6 system but everytime I get just past the "installing Astro Security software" point in the installation I get an exception. I'm a complete Linux/unix newbie so I don't have a clue as to what all the hex codes are about. The last message is: "Kernal panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!" (nice sense of humor this Linux has) and "In interrupt handler - not syncing". I tried changing different BIOS setting but to no effect. I also tried loading the ASL 3.050 Beta release but it does basically the same thing. I'm assuming that I have some sort of hardware conflict. I'm using a EFAcorp P5MVP3 motherboard with the last, most recent BIOS; an AMD-K6 II 400 mhz processor; 256MB of RAM; 6 Gig Western Digital ATA hardrive; an ATA CD-ROM; two intel 82557 nics and one 3Com 3c905 nic; STB Velocity 128 video card. There's alot of other codes and stuff on the screen when the exception happens. The first error is often "unable to handle kernal paging request at virtual address XXXXXXXX (the address changes each time)".
If someone got take the time to help me decipher these errors and figure out why I can't install ASL on this hardware, I would be very grateful.
