3Com Gigabit Ethernet

I have ASL 3.050 running on a machine with a NIC 3Com Gigabit Ethernet 3C996-T (copper) installed and another NIC "onboard". My problem is that ASL doesn't recognize the 3Com NIC. I have already downloaded the drivers from 3Com but I don't know how to incorporate them in ASL or if that is possible.

I would apreciate if someone could give me a hand on this.

P.S. - Maybe it will be supported in 3.2 version ?!

    Hello,

    could you post the PCI IDs?

    Please boot from the install CD, wait until the first dialog appears, than press Alt+F2 to get a shell and issue

    less -S /proc/bus/pci/devices

    (I need the 2nd column)

    First of all, thanks for your reply.

    Instead of doing what you told me, I used SSH to connect to the Astaro machine into the shell. I expect that this way doesn't affect the results you asked for. Then I issued the command and here are the results for the first and second column:

    My intention in implementing the Astaro is to provide a Firewall with a private network hanging ona Gigabit link, a sort of a DMZ on the other Gigabit link and the on-board interface to get to the Internet.

    You have cards with a Broadcom chipset, it is not supported by standard linux kernel. I found appropriate driver sources, and will try to get it into the kernel, but after our 3.2 release. Please be patient  [:)]
