Hi to all,
I have a box running ASL 2.0.16 with 2 Linksys EtherFast cards using the tulip driver. ifconfig shows the following errors on eth1 (eth1 is configured as my external device):
eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr xxxxxxx
inet addr:xxxxxxx Bcast:xxxxxx Mask:xxxxxxxx
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:64044 errors:1749 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:1824
TX packets:16885 errors:739 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:1478
collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
Interrupt:10 Base address:0x6000
I suspect the errors are because eth1, which is connected to my broadband provider, needs to be configured for 10mbps / half-duplex. How do I configure the tulip driver on eth1 to use 10mpbs/half-duplex? I have a feeling that it's auto-negotiation feature is not working correctly.
Another problem is that I am not able to use the Up2Date feature to upgrade to the latest version. I've read a few previous topics on this and have already tried increasing the 'time before automatic disconnect' to 60000. The symptoms are that it only downloads a portion of the first update 2.018.tar.gpg before it stops. I've tried it numerous times with no success. After it stops the filesizes are usually around 40K, 200K, 100K. Doing anything downstream (surfing mainly) from the client PCs is slow and downloads in general do not complete if they are over 100K. I suspect the errors on eth1 as described above are the cause of this error.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot!
