install works but boot disk failure

The install works as expected. Hard drive is Western Digital 10 gig. It is recognized as are the two NICs (lne100tx and 3com900).

When I re-boot, i get:

DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

I have updated the bios (ASUS p2-99 440ZX) and still no go. I zeroed the MBR as well - no good.

ANy help appreciated.
