iso image on Windows 98

I've downloaded asl-2.016.iso.gz to a windows 98 machine.
I've unzipped the file and it's now asl-2.106.iso.
I've burned it to CD using Adaptec Easy CD Creator software.
I'm now trying to boot the CD to an fresh formatted hard drive.
The CD won't boot.
I cannot access the \dosutil directory to create a boot diskette.
What are my options at this point.
 
Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks for the response ollion.
    I checked the md5sum on downloaded file and it was fine.
    The problem was the way the Windows 98 software named the iso file. Even though the software was set to ISO 9660, it forced the file name to be an 8+3 format.
    My quick and dirty solution was to put a burner into a Linux machine, download cdrecorder, copy the incorrect file name to the Linux machine, change it to the correct name and re-burn.
    The CD ISO image now boots as per the install instructions.
