How to use the up2date service manually?

What is the Problem with the Up2Date Service? You can start System-Update manually in Webadmin, and automatically, or manually the Pattern-Update.

Login your ASL (Webadmin), then click on System -> Up2date Service

Simply press the Start-Buttons to Update manually...   [;)]

My ASL is disconnected and cannot stay online. *Then* how do i upgrade manually?

I do have the 3.212.tar.gpg file at hand on a CD How do I get it installed?
I'm all new to Linux, so I need a step-by-step instruction.  [:)]

get yourself a tool called WinSCP, this way you can upload the tar file to /tmp. Login on the command line as root and move the file to /vat/recovery/incoming (mv src dst). Now you should see the up2date package in WebAdmin or simply type 'ainstall' on the command line to install the up2date.

and got WebAdmin:System/Up2date and perform a "Import from file" !

Just curious, might this method fix my no webmin problem?  I have a machine that puked while runing Up2date and I can no longer run Webmin even after a reboot.  I should have all the updates up to 3.12 but it failed before finishing 3.11 (or maybe it did finish, can't be sure.

Anyway, I need to get Webmin back if possible or I'll have to reinstall all over again.  ASL is working but I can't connect to webmin anymore.
