DHCP on the internet interface

My internet providor uses DHCP to dole out the IP addresses over their cable system. 2.0 be configured to use DHCP on the internet interface?

    Thank you very much...I think this is just what I am looking for.  Being a newbie to Linux, I am not sure how to apply this fix.  Can anyone elaborate on the procedure?  I looked at the readme file but it doesnt explain very well what I need to do.  (Please keep in mind that where as I have many years of experiance on MSDOS and windows systems, I have NO linux experiance)  The first problem that I am having is getting the file to the linux box....since the other systems on my internal network can see the linux box, I thought I would ftp it over.  I dont think the box has ftp support.  I also tryed to just copy it over using a floppy disk but I cant mount the floppy drive using the msdos fs.  It comes back as unsupported.

    Ok...I found a lot of information on this in other parts of the message boards...sorry for the repeats...I finally figured out the ssh and scp thing and was then able to untar and install the patch...I modified the updateip file (I hope I was supposed to do this...lol) and now what?...do I have to start something to make this work?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
