Weird problem with dhcpcd. Running ASL 2.019. Cable modem, Rogers in Toronto.
I’ve got a little SOHO hub/router that does NATing and can act as a dhcp server. When Astaro is connected to this it gets an address on my private network via dhcp without any problem, so at least the basics of dhcpcd are working fine. When hooked up through this, Astaro (or any machine on my network) is able to access the internet without any problem.
But when I connect my Astaro box to my cable modem I get the following messages from dhcpcd…
Jan 23 21:23:29 asl dhcpcd[1359]: broadcasting DHCP_DISCOVER
Jan 23 21:23:30 asl dhcpcd[1359]: broadcastAddr option is missing in DHCP server response. Assuming 24.xxx.yyy.255
Jan 23 21:23:30 asl dhcpcd[1359]: broadcasting second DHCP_DISCOVER
Jan 23 21:23:30 asl dhcpcd[1359]: DHCP_OFFER received from (24.153.22.138)
Jan 23 21:23:30 asl dhcpcd[1359]: broadcasting DHCP_REQUEST for 24.xxx.yyy.zzz
Jan 23 21:24:29 asl dhcpcd[1359]: timed out waiting for a valid DHCP server response
Now, the weird thing is the address my little gateway device gets isn’t the same as the one offered above. It’s not even on the same subnet.
I’ve tried multiple network cards as both eth0 and eth1.
I ‘ve tried dhcpcd with the –h crxxxxxxx-a option without any luck. I also know other people that are using Astaro on Rogers without problems.
Anyone have any ideas?
