Q - support for 4 port nic, using DEC 21143-TD chips

Hi all,

I've found a D/Link 4 port nic, that has 4*21143-TD chips, and 1*21152-AB chip.

I think that makes it a tulip based card.

I'm currently using intel cards, as I had real trouble with tulip cards in the past. Does anyone know if there are still problems with tulip based cards?

Has anyone tried a D/Link DFE-570TX?

Will ASL pickup new nics, or will I need to backup the config, reinstall, and import?

Thanks

  • Thanks Marius,

I'd run a couple of searches though.

I found that some people had trouble with tulip cards, some didn't.

The tulip driver was updated to work with 4 port cards, but I also found a note from someone with went back to a DE driver due to problems.

I also found some people who had new cards picked up, and some didn't, though those with that problem seemed to be using 1.9x versions.

So you can see why I thought I'd ask again :-/

    cheers
