I'm currently in the middle of trying (slowly - this has taken me 3 months elapsed now!) to get ASL up on a box at home.
I've got ASL installed fine but my two NICs seem to want to share the same IRQ.
eth0 is an Intel 82557 (Ethernet Pro 100) and eth1 is a 3Com Etherlink XL (3c900b-TPo)
After booting, dhcp querying fails (unsurprisingly) and eth1 is defined but with no addressing information assigned.
I've tried manually assigning a spare irq in /etc/modules.conf along the lines of
options eth1 irq=9
but after rebooting eth1 doesn't even get created during boot.
Even more wierd is the fact that if I try to change eth0's irq then eth1 still doesn't get created and eth0 still winds up with an irq of 10!
I've looked all through this BB's posts and not found anything and googled away until my eyes are sore and resemble a monitor with no luck or even a hint...
I did find a diagnostics program on Donald Becker's website but it's in source code form and I can't build on my Astaro box as there's no C compiler; I'll try building on a RedHat box just out of desperation before I seek solace in a few beers tonight ...
