I've got an IBM Netfinity xSeries 300 rack-mount server with two original OEM NICs doing just fine. I've bought the up2date service, and it is in fact up-to-date now.
I want to add a third NIC card, and the IBM recommendation is the 3Com 3C980C-TXM EtherLink Server NIC -- which has a driver (unsupported by 3Com) for the Red Hat 6.1 Linux kernel.
Astaro didn't recognize it on the hardware reboot, and I know it's not too time-consuming to just install the Astaro all over again, but:
a) is it possible it won't discover and find a suitable driver for this new NIC; and,
b) could I screw up my up2date status on this particular machine?
Thanks for any advice you can give,
Craig
P.S. Here's the URL for the unsupported 3Com drivers:
