Will Astaro run on a PII 233?

yeah it sure will i´m using a 266mmx with 64mb ram, it´s only the browsing around in www admin that may be slower, but it´s serving a 10mb without any problem att all..20% cpu usage

it´s pentium 200mmx running @266, and it´s absolutely enough, main thing for me is that i could use a little more memory

I have P II @262 Mh(233over....),128Mb, IDE HD 
on ASL box and everything go well but this 
hardware is good only for one client machine behind the ASL box (only with masquerading) 
without proxy, dnat, snat so nobody can reach 
from outside your internal IP address.

A 233/266 PII only good for one client behind ASL? What are you basing this on?

I am using a Pentium 200MMX (yes, pentium - not II) with 192M ram as my ASL box. 
I have two servers and 4 clients behind ASL on a 1M SDSL connection.

Cpu utillization varies between 15 and 40%, and has an average of 20% I think, during the last 3-4 months..

I am using masquerading, smtp proxy, ssh and a few dnat's.

I'm sorry, but I can't find any valid reason for your claims. 
Why should the cpu speed difference between a 200MMX pentium and a 233MHz PII make any difference in regards to loosing bits (ie packet loss) on a home user connection?
If my P200MMX was running at 50-75% utilization I would not discard your view, but it is far from that.
At times I'm having 2-3 quite active computers behind my ASL box - and the MRTG stats show no particular peaks in usage or utilization of my hardware (except bandwidth usage that is).

I'm sorry if I sound a bit obnoxious in my replies to you micio, I don't mean to offend you or put down your efforts to help in these forums.
Some of your recent posts however, can at best be defined as misleading.
I'm no expert, but whenever I feel uncertain, I try to express this very fact in my postings.
If someone thinks I'm wrong - I don't mind being corrected at all.

If I realise that my point of view is radical or odd, I try to substantiate it with as much technical proof I can.

ASL on a Celeron 400, 128MB RAM
Average CPU use ~ 17%
About 40 clients using NAT
SMTP proxy
Some people using the HTTP proxy
No virus scanning

It seems that Astaro wants to use ~15-20% of the CPU all the time.  From the looks of it these are the /usr/local/bin/superdaemon.pl and ./mdw_deamon.pl scripts that utilize the CPU this way.

In my opinion, anything P166MMX or better with at least 64MB should run Astaro just fine if you are not doing some heavy proxying or filling up a 100Mb pipe.  128MB is recommended especially with the price of RAM these days.  As noted, the WebAdmin interface will seem a bit slow.
