Kernel panic:

Hallo,

bekomme ständig beim Booten einen Kernel panic:
habe alle Möglichkeiten ausprobiert. Partitioniert, unpartitioniert, formatiert, unformatiert... jedesmal eine andere Fehlermeldung beim Booten der ASTARO-CD.

Leider bin ich noch nicht so bewandert und hoffe hier auf Hilfe. Danke.

    first of all i think you will get much more hints if you write in Englisch      

    OK, you should publish some more technical information about your hardware, the ASL version you try to install, and the circumstances that bring you to a kernel panic.

    If you look around and search the forum, you will find that often a wrong burned ISO is a possible error-source.
    It could also have something to do with your hardware.

    So please post some more information.

    My version of ASL is 2.4.4-asl-2.010510.1...
    Hardware: SIS5513 IDE-Controller, HDD WDC WD200EB 20GB, ATA CD-ROM CCD-52X6S, CPU AMD Duron 750MHz, 256MB RAM... more?

    Installation:
    1st boottime with iso-burned CDROM
    HDD is blank (or not, i try any situation)
    (at this time: part1 ext2 1GB, part2 swap 1GB)
    then, my pc hang with following error:

    WARNING: unable to open an initial console
    kernel panic: no init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.

    nothing is running... reboot... the same problem...

    U need more informations? pls reply...

    The version you try to install is very, very old. Besides of it, the CD is probably corrupt. It could be a better idea, to try a resent CD image [:)]
